  5. Engineering is something we all do. We as humans have been doing things in the field of engineering for centuries. It's not as hard as some people tend to believe. When someone has a passion for engineering, and see what they can do, they can figure out problems and possibly help the world.

I decided to join the engineering career pathway because I have always been fascinated with hands on activities. I have always liked to build thing and with this class I would like to transform hobby into a paid profession So I have decided to get a head start on my career by joining this career path.

  9. My reasons for joining the engineering pathway are pretty simple enough. I enjoy figuring things out and constructing things, so it seemed like a fit. In my current and future years, I hope to learn how to think more like an engineer. I also would like to gain knowledge in furthering myself in my pathway.

  11. I am in this engineering class because in the 9th grade i picked it when i was at MLK. Than i came to Arabia for 10th grade and did agriculture to get in the school, but i did not like that course. So here i am now in 11th i have switched back to engineering, I am in a 10th grade class, but its okay because I am doing something i like to do.

  15. Honestly, I am on the engineering path because that is what my mom put me on. I thought I would not like it but I do. what i learned from being in this class is that I like to work with my hands and work with chemicals as well. I hope I learn how to build more things and also I would like to know more about computers.

  17. I really like the idea of maker spaces. I believe that they are important to help people express themselves by building something. I decided to join the engineering pathway because since I was little I have always been interested in technology. I also joined so I can learn even more about it. No matter what I do in the future I know it will be related to engineering.

  18. I am in the Engineering Pathway because my nanny chose it while I signed up to the school. Nothing else interested me so I just gave her permission to pick what she want. Honestly, I'm more of an arts major person, most likely visual arts, but they do not have that here. I do admit that I like to take things apart and that I like trying to make things (like when I tried to make a hat for my mother once) but I don't enjoy it enough to pursue it as a life-time career. I think electronics are interesting, but not that interesting.

I chose the engineering pathway because engineering is the career I want to pursue. I have always been a fixer whether it is mentally or physically. When something is broke or there is something that my mom can't figure out I am the one she comes to (mind you I am the youngest in the house right now). I also feel engineering is a natural ability although today people would rather have others solve their problems. Honestly it took me some time to figure out what I wanted to do, but being in this pathway has made me realize this is what I like to do and this is what I want to do. I feel engineering is my niche and I will be extremely successful when the time comes.

  35. I chose the engineering pathway because it is one of the fastest-growing fields in the world and it would be beneficial to gain insight on the world of engineering. But I also like building things and finding new ways to solve problems, so deepening that ability is another plus of this pathway. Everyone and anyone is a maker as long as they know how to find a solution to a problem. And I think that the engineering pathway can help me become a better maker.

  48. To be completely honest I took engineering and drafting last year and I didn't think it was too bad. So, my mom put me in the engineering pathway. I hope to learn some of the basic skills that can apply to any career including problem solving and technology skills. The career I aspire to have is not necessarily in the Engineering pathway but thee skills could be useful.

  49. As a child I loved to create new ideas and designs. Engineering is to use designs and ideas to create technology, so I took this pathway. Unfortunately for me putting designs into effect is hard. I hope this engineering class will help me gain the skills and put my dreams into action to become more like the kids in this video.

  50. When I first found out that I was coming to Arabia last year, I was surprised because usually when I apply to schools that have a waiting list, I'm never accepted because there just so many people. But I didn't know anything about career pathways because my previous high school didn't offer it since we were on a block schedule so I ended up in the Engineering Pathway because my mom or dad signed me up for it without telling me. I didn't choose engineering because of the reason above and I really wanted to take broadcasting instead. But I took Engineering and I liked it because it taught me that you have to think outside the box and be different from other people. I had a lot of fun working with the people who eventually became my best friends at school, especially when we worked in the workshop in the back of the classroom. This year I really don't expect to learn anything new basically because of the fact that I was downgraded to a 9th grade class but next year when I'm taking 11th grade engineering or 12th grade engineering, hopefully I'll learn a lot more about the world around us and how different things work.

  61. The reason I joined this pathway was that we could easily identify the features and benefits of the Computer Science and Engineering department, making a choice always involves a subjective element.it’s helpful to hear from others who have made decisions about computing and the department .Their needs and personal goals may help you better define your own.

  64. The reason I joined this particular pathway was because I was influenced by my dad by watching him work in the field, seeing the designs he does for buildings air condition, and also from other experiences like having a computer and surfing the web, seeing people at work. As I have grown, I've been able to see great advances in technology that has really encouraged me to invest time in the field of Engineering and Technology. I hope that as I invest time in this field of work, I could possibly be a maker of something, or assist in the making of something great and hopefully, can impact people's lives in amazing ways.
